Bread and Roses Feminist Singers formed in 1978 as the DC Area Feminist Chorus. We are a non-audition chorus open to all sopranos and altos at any level of musical experience. Our performances include community events, women's cultural activities, lesbian and gay pride celebrations, political gatherings, and other opportunities to facilitate understanding, acceptance, and cooperation among people of diverse lifestyles through the medium of music. Most of the music is by, for and about women and spans many genres, including protest songs, liberation songs and folk music.
