New Singers Welcome!
No auditions, just a chance to come and meet us and see if the chorus your mother warned you about is the right place for you after all. No gender restrictions, but you gotta be able to sing treble. (Alto or Soprano).

We are
Fortissima: DC's Feminist Singers,
singing truth to power since 1978.
We began as the DC Area Feminist Chorus, were known as Bread and Roses Feminist Singers from 1983 to the fall of 2009, and became Fortissima in October 2009.
We have the same committment to music and social justice regardless of the name.
We are open to all sopranos and altos, regardless of gender, and without audition.
"We want bread, but we want roses too!"
